Duration

Float (boat) Trips: Choose from half day (up to 4 hours), 3/4 day (up to 6 hours) or full day (up to 8 hours)
Wade Trips: Choose from half day, 3/4 day or full day
Hike & Fish: Combine the best of both worlds – a scenic hike and fishing at secret and secluded backcountry fishing hotspots.

Transportation

Most trips include transportation to Vail and Beaver Creek Villages and surrounding areas. Guides may ask groups to meet at an easily accessible area or pick up at guest accommodations. Participants can also drive to the outfitters’ locations.

Cost

Trip costs vary based on the duration, type of trip and number of guests. Prices range between $350 and $700. Costs for each trip can be found on the Vail Valley Anglers website.

What to wear and bring

Dress in layers since Colorado weather can be unpredictable and temperatures vary greatly between high and low elevations. Consider if you will be going on a wade, float or hike & fish trip. Check the Vail Valley Anglers website for detailed suggestions regarding clothing, or call the shop and speak to a guide. Where sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a light rain jacket.

What is provided?

Wade Trips: Simms waders and wading boots, water, fly rods and reels, and an experienced, friendly fishing guide. Full day trips include a freshly prepared lunch.

Float trips: a drift boat or fishing raft, a clean pair of Simms waders and wading boots, water, fly rods and reels, and an experienced, friendly fishing guide. Full day trips include a freshly prepared lunch.

Excluded Items: Colorado fishing license, guide gratuity

When can you tour?

Guided fishing trips are available year-round, although the most popular times to go are April-September. Fishing is a rain or shine activity! Limited trips are available in the winter months.
